Geotechnical & Materials Engineering, IBC Special Inspections, Material Testing
Nestled adjacent to the FC Cincinnati stadium located in downtown Cincinnati is the new Hamilton County Wade Parking Garage.
The $17 million, 50,000 square feet, five-story, cast-in-place, post-tension concrete structure includes 833 spaces for vehicles and additional space for bikes, electric charging stations, and maintenance.
CSI provided special inspections and construction material testing for:
Along with the standard inspection and testing required on the project, CSI provided concrete maturity testing to determine the in-place concrete strength prior to the stressing of the post-tension cables. The maturity testing provided real time, in-place strengths and helped expedite the post-tension stressing schedule.
Mr. Darrell Harris was the Senior Construction Inspector who performed daily testing and inspection and maintained communication with the owner and project team. Mr. Nick Koester, P.E. was the Project Engineer performing concrete framework inspections and review of daily field and laboratory reports.
CSI teamed with structural engineering firm, Julie Cromwell & Associates to perform shoring and reshoring inspection services during construction of the shoring for the elevated concrete decks.
Overall, the project was a great success. CSI enjoyed working with Hamilton County, Turner Construction, Elevar Design Group, THP Limited, and Julie Cromwell & Associates.
